Poroma: Solar energy for irrigation

In Poroma, south Nasca, a new plantation will require water pumping for irrigation. Following that objective, a Lorentz direct solar pumping system will be installed, lifting up an average of 480 m3 of water per day at a 60 m height.

This submersible pump has a power of 21 kW and is connected to a 30 kW, 200 m2 photovoltaic array composed by 100 300W solar panels. These will replace the use of expensive generators for water pumping.
